Lake of the Woods girls travelled to Winnipeg for their final roundup tournament this weekend. Over 120 girls travelled to the windy city to try to bring gold back to the Lake.

In the novice division, the Red Devils brought home silver after a tough battle with Winnipeg's Southdale. The atoms had Lady Luck on their side with the Lake of the Woods Storm beating out their home team -- the Panthers -- for the gold medal.

Also, the peewees fought hard in their division, with the Thrashers bringing home third and Dyn-o-mite getting fourth.

Finally, the Kenora Blaze beat The Thunder Bay Fury for the title once again. It was a repeat of this season's matchup.

Overall, all teams showed great sportsmanship, integrity and made Kenora proud of their talents and humanity. The girls organization will be hosting their 3rd annual hockey awards banquet next month at the curling club, showcasing all girls accomplishments over the year.
