The Rotary Peace Park fundraising continues and Colin McDonald of CW McDonald Contracting has presented a cheque for $1,000.00.  McDonald urges other contractors to match his donation.

The Rotary Peace Park will be located on First Avenue South. The land was gifted to Rotary by the City of Kenora, who will maintain care of the park once it is complete.

"Planting a Peace Pole is a way of bringing people together to inspire, awaken, and uplift the human consciousness the world over. We feel this is a wonderful project for the Kenora area community.  Peace Poles are now recognized as the most prominent international symbol and monument to peace. They remind us to think, speak, and act in the spirit of peace and harmony." said Debra LeMaistre, who is co-chair of the Peace Park committee

The Rotary Peace Park is scheduled to open in October 2022 and is a partnership between the Rotary Club of Kenora, the City of Kenora and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, Transgender, 2 Spirit committee.
