The Dryden GM Ice Dogs ran their winning streak to eight games with a 7-4 win over the Wisconsin Lumberjacks last night.

Derek Koivisto had a four-point night including two goals, while Brady Frattinger also had a pair.

With the win, the Ice Dogs now have 55 points on the season, just four back of the Kam River Fighting Walleye for first, though Dryden does have one game in hand.

The Ice Dogs and the Lumberjacks will do battle again tonight in Spooner, Wisconsin.

The St Thomas Aquinas Saints and the Dryden Eagles hockey teams split their games Tuesday night.

The Eagle’s boys team edged the Saints 3-2 at the Kenora Rec. Center. In the girls’ game, the Saints got by Dryden 4-3 at the Dryden Memorial Arena.

The Kenora u18 AAA Thistles will snap their five-game losing streak at home. The Thistles take on the Winnipeg Wild at the Kenora Rec. Center tonight at 7:30.

The Thistles have fallen to 11th out of the 12-team league.
