For the 31st straight day, the Northwestern Health Unit is reporting more COVID-19 cases across the region.
In total, 7 cases were reported. One case in the Dryden Health Hub area, two cases in the Kenora Health Hub area and four cases in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub area.
Provincewide, 2,380 new cases were reported on Thursday, the highest since January 24.
Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts have started according to protocol. Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be contacted directly.
NWHU recommends that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face. Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested.
