The next municipal election for Kenora is scheduled to take place in October 2022, and current Mayor of Kenora, Dan Reynard, confirmed in an interview with KenoraOnline that he will be seeking re-relection.

When talking about the accomplishments of the City Council in the 2021-year, Mayor Reynard said “I've got a lot of energy. I'm excited about the direction we're going and so you know, as we move into the election next year, I really want to be a part of that, so I'm going to be running for mayor again next year.”

“I am just so convinced that this is a great community! We have our warts just like everybody else but I just see so much promise and hope here. I just want to be a part of it, I am so excited for the coming year,” he continued.

Mayor Reynard won the 2018 municipal election with 4729 votes, over 4000 more than the next candidate.

Mayor Reynard went on to talk about his confidence in the current City of Kenora leadership “This is my seventh year on Council and it’s the first time that we have ever had all of our senior leadership positions filled by really strong individuals at the same time, in the past, we’ve always had vacancies.

“I think we are very well positioned as we move forward into the coming years,” concluded Mayor Reynard.
