The sold-out run for Trylight Theatre’s Annie continues through Saturday on the Trylight stage at 510 Second Street South and the Q Morning Show spoke with Monica Favreau, who plays Annie.

The production was postponed because of COVID-19 restrictions and the star of the show was thrilled to finally hit the stage last weekend.

“I’m in Grade 9 now and we started our practices when I was in Grade 7,” explained Favreau.

Monica told us about how she got involved with live theatre.

“My sister and dad had all done plays and I had done plays at St. Louis school and I just decided that I liked performing. Then, I decided to try Trylight once and it was a lot of fun. I did one when I was in grade six and Annie is my second one with Trylight.”

Monica also enjoys working with the dog Zip, who plays Sandy in the show.

“Oh my gosh, it’s like the best thing ever. It’s so fun to work with Zip and Tammy is the one who owns Zip and she works with both of us. It’s so fun. It’s such a cool experience because it’s not something that’s done often with a play or a performance, having live animals in it. Yeah, it’s so fun to work with Zip.”

Watch for Monica Favreau in Annie, if you are fortunate enough to have tickets to the current production at Trylight Theatre.
