Kenora MP, Eric Melillo, is recognizing the community volunteers who are helping those on the streets this winter.

"I just applaud everyone who has come together in the community to help put the warming shelters together to help those who needed them. It's really great to see the community come together in that way," he said.

Additional warming centres have opened in the Kenora area as 40-50 people sought shelter from the extreme cold.

The MP also encouraged volunteers and residents to help out, if they can.
