
On November 28th, 2011, the OPP received a report of damaged aircraft at the Minaki airport. Police learned that 11 aircraft were damaged sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25th and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 26th. 12 of 20 planes in the airport where reported to have damage to the fuselages and floats.The estimated damage to the aircraft is $300,000.
The Kenora OPP are continuing the investigation and are looking to the public for assistance in solving this crime. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kenora OPP at 807-548-5534 or to contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
