A search is taking place for a man near Vermilion Bay.
OPP says an abandoned vehicle was located west of the community on Friday.
Police are wanting to ensure the person is okay.
He is identified only as Leslie. Under new procedures, police are no longer providing last names in incidents of this nature.
Leslie is described as being 5’8″ and 57 years old.
He was operating a black Subaru Impreza but may have been on foot on Highway 17 near Vermilion Bay seeking assistance.
Police say it is possible he had vehicle trouble and made his way to Kenora for assistance.
They believe he could still be within the city.
The OPP’s Emergency Response Team and a canine unit are assisting in the search.
