Mounties in B.C. have confirmed the link, between a missing mental patient and the remains found near Vermilion Bay last month. Earlier today, Cpl. Jamie Chung from the RCMP confirmed Donald Bonner, 55, of Port Coquitlam had been missing since 2008. Bonner had signed himself out of a forensic mental institution.
The remains were found last month by an MNR fire crew April 16, about 10 kilometres west of Vermilion Bay. Investigators from the OPP say no foul play is suspected.
Last week, police laid charges against John Paul Ostamas, of Ft. Hope, had been in Kenora only days before the murder of homeless men in Winnipeg.
