Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit say they’ve received a report a new positive COVID-19 test result in the Kenora Health Hub area.

While no specific details were available at this time, staff note follow up with the person involved and their contacts has started, according to protocols. Anyone who is identified as a potential contact will be contacted directly.

This case brings the region’s total to 43 confirmed cases of the illness, and 42 of them are considered resolved. Over 11,100 COVID-19 tests have been taken in the area.

As always, the NWHU asks all residents to assume COVID-19 is in your community, and to always follow all social distancing and hygiene guidelines at all times.

If you would like to be tested for COVID-19, whether you are experiencing symptoms or not, you are asked to contact your local COVID-19 assessment centre immediately.
