The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting 1 new positive COVID-19 test result and 1 probable case, both in the Rainy River District.
Follow-up with those involved and their contacts has started, and anyone identified as a contact for these cases will be reached directly by NWHU staff.
These cases bring the Northwestern Health Unit’s totals to 138 confirmed cases and 3 probable cases. There’s currently 1 active case in the Kenora region, with 3 in the Rainy River District.
NWHU recommends that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face.
Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested.
