Nearly 50 local businesses, artisans, local musicians and more will be coming together on Main Street in Kenora today to take part in the inaugural Open Air Market.

The Kenora District Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Kenora, the Kenora Hospitality Alliance and the Harbourtown BIZ have worked to create new new Open Air Market, which will be taking place today on Main Street South between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

President of the Kenora District Chamber of Commerce, Andy Scribilo, has more on the event, and says pedestrians and cyclists will have more than enough space to meet social distancing requirements.

“We’ll be closing down Main Street from Donny B’s to the Kenricia corner, to allow all the businesses in the area that want to come out to come sell their wares. It’s whatever you have and want to promote!”

“Any musicians and artisans, crafting, painting, anything that was or wasn’t allowed at the market, you’re more than welcome to come up.”

“We worked in conjunction with the Northwestern Health Unit and the province. Masks are encouraged, gloves and sanitizer will be there, we will make sure tables and booths have social distancing, as well as markings on the pavement telling you where to go.”

Kenora’s next Open Air Market will be taking place on Saturday on Main Street South, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Booths are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you can reserve a booth by emailing the chamber at

Local musicians wishing to perform are asked to contact for more information.
