The OPP is investigating a collision between two vehicles on Highway 17 yesterday, which closed one lane of the highway for a few hours.

The OPP released new information on the collision on August 16, saying it took place at 12:30 p.m. between a pick-up truck pulling an RV that was turning onto Highway 17 from Highway 71, and a tractor trailer unit that was travelling on Highway 17.

Two individuals from the pick-up truck were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

An eyewitness told Q104 and KenoraOnline that thankfully, an ambulance with paramedics was only two vehicles behind the pick-up truck at the time of the collision and they were able to respond immediately.

The OPP’s investigation is continuing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
