The search for missing 16-year-old Juan Miguel Tan (Rondilla) has come to a tragic end.

Kenora OPP confirmed Wednesday evening that the teenager was located deceased.

Foul play is not suspected, and the family is asking for privacy.

The family thanks the OPP for their work and assistance, and the community for all of their support.

The OPP says no further information will be released.


Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking to the public to assist in locating a missing 16-year-old male.

Police are looking for Juan Miguel Tan (Rondilla), who is described as Filipino, 5'10" tall, medium build, black hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, dark pants, and black shoes.

The youth was last seen at approximately 1:00 a.m. on July 3, 2022, at a campsite on Town Island on Lake of The Woods.

The OPP Northwest Region Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Marine Unit, and a helicopter have actively been searching for the youth, with additional supports being deployed.
