Outflow from the Norman Dam to be increased

By Tim Davidson Apr 19, 2023 | 2:26 PM

Water levels below the Norman Dam will go up over the next couple of days.

The Lake of the Woods Control Board says it has authorized three small increases in outflow ending on Friday.

That’s because inflow into Lake of the Woods continues to rise, and is expected to remain high over the next week.

The Control Board says the Norman Dam outflow is increasing to 500 m3/s today, to 525 m3/s on Thursday and to 550 m3/s on Friday, April 21.

The Winnipeg River is expected to go up by 20 centimeters by the end of the week below the Norman Dam and at the Dalles.

Water levels in Minaki are not expected to be affected.
