Over 1,000 Hydro One customers in northwestern Ontario are without power this afternoon.
Hydro One reports a major power outage between the Ignace area and Savant Lake, located north of Ignace up Highway 599, with 1,073 customers affected.
The utility says crews have been dispatched to diagnose and fix the issue, which was reported between 3 and 4 p.m, and the area’s estimated restoration time is currently listed for 7 p.m.
Hydro One reminds all members of the public to always stay clear of downed power lines or equipment, and never assume they are safe to approach.
