Members of the Kenora Detachment of the OPP responded to 460 calls since July 5, with nearly 200 of them over the weekend. 

Between Friday, July 9 and Monday, July 12 police responded to 197 calls and laid 23 charges under the Criminal Code, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Highway Traffic Act. Some of the calls Police attended were;

  • 16 Police Assistance
  • 13 Police Information
  • 7 Missing Person
  • 4 Marine
  • 3 Noise Complaints
  • 1 Stolen Vehicle
  • 10 Traffic Complaints
  • 8 Trespass to Property Act
  • 13 Unwanted Person
  • 1 Weapons

The citizens of Ontario have other ways to report a minor crime. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding the public about their online reporting system as an alternative to having an officer attend a scene for a minor incident.
