Winnipeg’s first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs kicks off Wednesday night against Edmonton and yesterday on the Q Morning Show, PC leader Erin O’Toole told us why he’s cheering for the Jets.
“I lived in Winnipeg when I got my wings. In fact, I was there when the first chapter of the Jets history closed back in 1996 and there’s a young man from Bowmanville, the town I represent, who’s mother worked for me for a while, who’s a prospect in the Jets organization – Declan Chisholm. I love the fact that there’s a connection from my community and my network. I’d just love to see a Canadian team win the Stanley Cup."
Winnipeg won two of the nine games against the Oilers this season. Game 1 of the Jets/Oilers series is Wednesday, May 19 at 8:00pm.
