Prescription Drug Drop Off Day is this Saturday at the Kenora OPP Detachment on Highway 17 East. Const. Ronni Grosenick says it's important to make sure prescription drugs are disposed of in a secure way.

"The OPP and health agencies are partnering together to encourage people to dispose of these unused and expired prescriptions drugs so that they're disposed of in a secure and environmentally friendly manner," she said.

Grosenick says they will accept any type of medication that needs to be disposed of.

"People can come down, bring their prescription drugs. And they can bring anything from their medicine cabinet too, anything sort of medications that need to be disposed of in any manner then you can bring them down and we'll take care of that for you," she said.

The drop off takes place from 10 o'clock to 3 o'clock.
