Rocks will be flying at Kenora’s curling rinks this month!

The Kenora Curling Committee says they’re gearing up and getting ready for their annual Lake of the Woods Open Bonspiel this weekend, before the Northern Ontario Curling Association’s Provincial Championships come to town two weeks from now.

The LOTW Open will run from Friday to Saturday with Women’s, Men’s and Mixed teams all welcome. Teams are guaranteed at least 3 games, and have the chance to win prizes, draws and more. More information can be found HERE.

Then between January 24 to 29, Men’s and Women’s teams from all over Northern Ontario will be competing to move onto Ontario’s championships at the Kenora Recreation Centre at the NOCA play-downs.

“We are lucky enough to host both of the Men’s and the Women’s events,” explains Special Events Coordinator with the City of Kenora, Morgan Seller. “The winner of the Mens will go on to the Tim Horton’s Brier, and the winner of the Women’s will be at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.”

NOCA tickets are available online on the Kenora Curling Committee’s website, as well as Home Hardware and the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre. Event and day passes are both available.
