The Chief Executive Officer and District Administrator at the Kenora District Homes for the Aged is calling a career.

Kevin Queen is retiring after 44 years at the end of June.

Queen says he is pleased he was recognized by AdvantAge Ontario to receive an honorary membership.

“This particular honour acknowledges extraordinary dedication to seniors and longstanding contributions to the association,” explains Queen.

“Advantage represents non-profit long term care facility services.  So it’s their highest honour and they’ve only awarded it to 10 others.  So it was quite an honour to be recognized in this way.”

The award was presented last month in Toronto at the AdvantAge convention.

Queen says AdvantAge Ontario is the association that represents Pinecrest, Northwoods Lodge in Red Lake and Princess Court in Dryden.

He adds that the board of the Kenora District Homes for the Aged will hire his replacement.
