Residents in the Red Lake District, be advised that the flood warning has been extended.
The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry shared on Thursday, June 6, that the current flood warning for the Red Lake District has been extended until Friday, June 24.
This flood warning will affect residents in the Red Lake, Dixie Lake, Longlegged Lake, Pakwash Lake, Chukuni River, Coli Lake, Berens Lake, and English River watersheds, and surrounding areas throughout the district should exercise extreme caution around less travelled roads, bridges, water-crossings, lakes, rivers, and areas of high runoff potential, as water levels in portions of the district are high.
Showers are expected to continue off and on over the next few days, water levels may continue to rise and residents should exercise caution.
Water levels could lead to road and shoreline property damage.
Residents with shoreline structures, boats, and docks should use caution.
The Ministry continues to monitor the weather and developing watershed conditions, further updates will be issued as appropriate.
