All 46 confirmed cases and the 1 probable case of COVID-19 in the Northwestern Health Unit’s catchment area are all now classified as resolved.

A resolved case status can also come from a patient passing two COVID-19 tests in 24 hours, with no signs of symptoms. The most recent confirmed case of the illness in the area was reported in Sioux Lookout on August 24.

The NWHU is continuing to recommend that everyone assume COVID-19 is spreading within your community, and to practice preventative measures like social distancing and proper hand hygiene, and wearing a mask at all times.

The Northwestern Health Unit’s catchment area includes the Kenora, Dryden, Red Lake, Rainy River, Sioux Lookout areas.
