It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Richard Gordon Joseph Pedneault. Rick was known by many as Bert, a nickname he gained in high school. Left to remember him are his cherished wife of 27 years Lori, his only child Rikki (Matthew) who he was so proud of, his grandson and favourite little boy Charlie, his loving parents Anne and Use, his big brother Grant (Jill), his favourite sister Kathy (Harold), and his little brother Russell (Barb). Also left to mourn are numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his best friend and constant companion Mick II. Bert was predeceased by his father-in-Law Bob Emlyn, mother-in law Carol-Ann Emlyn, and his nephew Curtis Hayberg.

Bert was born in Kenora, Ontario and led an exceptionally full life filled with many adventures and great memories. He had many jobs including railroader, bus driver, soldier, and blaster on the pipeline. Bert was exceptionally proud of his time with the Lakeshore baseball team. His greatest joy was watching his little girl grow up. His proudest moment was being called Grandpa for the first time by his daughter’s step-son Charlie. He was always there when someone needed him and was never too busy to lend a helping hand. He could often be found sitting at his “workbench” in his “lab-coat” working on a friend’s computer. Those who knew him will always remember his infectious laugh and great sense of humor.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 17th, 2015 at the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation centre In Kenora with a gathering to follow at the Ukrainian Hall. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to It's a Dog’s Life, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
