With less than 9 months before the expected opening of the Kenora Rotary Peace Park, donations continue to come in. The law office of Major, Sobiski and Moffat LLP has donated $1,000.00 for the park. Fundraising now stands at over $85,000.00 of the $100,000.00 goal.

The law firm has worked with the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls inquiry for First Nation clients.

As a teenager, Yana Sobiski was selected as a Rotary Exchange student who went to Venezuela, where she attended school for one year.

The Rotary Peace Park will be located on First Avenue South. The land was gifted to Rotary by the City of Kenora, who will maintain care of the park once it is complete.

The Rotary Peace Park is scheduled to open in October 2022 and is a partnership between the Rotary Club of Kenora, the City of Kenora and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, Transgender, 2 Spirit committee.
