The St. Thomas Aquinas senior boys basketball team has won it’s first game at the All-Ontario “A” championships in Timmins.
The Saints, who were ranked eleventh, took down the #9 team, Woodland Christian High School near Kitchener, in a back and forth affair 65-59.
TA lead after the first (14-5) and second quarters (28-24), but trailed 45-43 in the third.
The Saints will now go on to play Woodbridge High School just north of Toronto, the 8th seed in the tournament, at 9:30 central time tomorrow morning.
