The Kenora branch of the Salvation Army and Dryden Community Ministries Centre has partnered with The Word Hub and Compass Community Kitchen to expand food bank operations in the area.

The Salvation Army has been working with The Word Hub on an ad-hoc basis for quite some time, but the official partnership will make it easier for clients to access the food bank.

"It's a win-win on both sides," said Sandra Poole of the Salvation Army.

Clients can access the food bank, up to twice a month, either through the Salvation Army or The Word Hub, with the latter offering delivery services.

The Word Hub will distribute food to clients on Fridays of every second week.

If you need the support of the food bank, you're encouraged to reach out to the Salvation Army by calling 468-8452 or by contacting The Word Hub through their Facebook page or by calling 204-583-8952.

All information is kept confidential and pick-ups will be done by appointment only, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Those that want to make a donation to the food bank, can drop their donation off at Wilson's Business Solutions, The Kenora Recreation Centre, Safeway, Tracy's No Frills, or at the Salvation Army's office.

"If they need us to pick them up we can arrange that," Poole added.
