A long-time Scouts Canada event was able to return last week in Kenora.

34 members of the Scouts gathered at the Beaver Brae gym last Saturday for the return of the Scout’s Rapid Races, the first time the annual event’s been able to run since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Members of the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all spent weeks building Beaver Buggies, Kub Kars and Scout Trucks out of wood blocks to race them down a track, which was donated by Kenora’s Copperfin Credit Union.

“A big thank you goes out to all the participants, parents, volunteers and sponsors who make this event possible,” said the Scouts.
