The Kinsmen, Lions, Legion and Rotary clubs joined forces to host a spaghetti supper fundraiser at the Legion.

Over $3,000 was raised for Kenora Handi-Transit earlier this month to purchase tires for the two mini-bus vans.

Kenora Handi-Transit is a non-profit service overseen by a volunteer board of directors. Handi-Transit is an essential service in our community that exists to provide accessible transportation for those individuals in our community who require special transportation. They operate two lift equipped mini-busses which have a maximum capacity of five wheelchairs and four ambulatory passengers.

Service is provided to all areas within city limits.

Fundraising is necessary and donations are gratefully accepted in order to keep this essential service operating in Kenora.

“Speaking on behalf of all Handi-Transit members and clients, we are grateful for all the support that the service clubs provided, as we never could have done this alone,” said Jackie McAllister, Chair Kenora Handi-Transit Board.

On behalf of Kenora Hand-Transit and the four service clubs, we thank everyone who bought a ticket or made a donation to the spaghetti supper.

We would also like to thank our Sponsors, Gillons Insurance and Wilson’s Business Solutions, local Businesses and individuals that provided auction items, Safeway, Gropps Country Catering, Solo Hair design, Days Spa, Lillian Marchant, Jerry and Judy Lava, Faye Tycholis and Ruth Sandmoen and also to all our service club volunteers and the cadets.

A big thank-you!
