Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking several severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, dime to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain. Some of these thunderstorms were located north of Sioux Lookout, and they were tracking southeast towards Highways 516 and 599. The warning for this area is now expired.

However, thunderstorms are still developing ahead of a cold front that will cross the region this evening. Some of these thunderstorms could bring gusts to 70 to 80 km/h, as well as frequent lightning and heavy downpours. Pea to dime-sized hail may also be possible.

Environment Canada is monitoring this situation closely.
