The family of Shelagh Longe celebrates her life as she has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour.
Shelagh was predeceased by her husband Stuart and her grandson Mikael (Shelley).
Shelagh is survived by her children; Lynda, David (Heather), Leanne (Tim), Shannon (Dino), her grandchildren; Kyle (Vanessa), Kaleb, Kraig (Rhandi), Kathleen (James), Ryan (Candace), Cameron (Amanda), Justin (Ali), Siobhan (Kyle), Davis (Carollyn), Jake (Maeghan), Sofi, Eli, Cate and numerous great grandchildren.
Shelagh was born and raised in Kenora. As a child and young woman, she spent cherished days at her parent’s tourist camp, Ash Rapids, and continued to share her fond memories of that time through the years that she lived at Pinecrest. She also met her husband, Stuart, there; the love of her life. They spent much of their time on the lake, both in winter and summer and they were the perfect life and work partners. There were many family times at their home and out on the lake and Shelagh and Stuart set an amazing example for all of us of the importance of family. They instilled in us the love of the Lord and both used their gifts to help others in the community and at church.
Shelagh is synonymous with gentleness and kindness. If you needed practical and caring advice, she was most definitely the person you wanted to go to. She was constantly thinking of small things that she could do to make someone feel special. Shelagh was a prayer warrior and she spent years quietly sharing the Lord’s love with her Sunday School students. She was the most amazing and wonderful Mom that we could have ever asked to have and there is no doubt that she is receiving her crown in heaven.
