Shirley Schussler-Tresoor (neé Marks)
April 4, 1932 - February 23, 2023
It is with profound sadness, we mourn the passing of Shirley Tresoor, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Terry, her siblings Betty, Dorthy and George will deeply feel her loss. She also leaves to mourn, her children Valerie, Craig (Brenda), Cameron (Ange) and Yvonne. Grandchildren Tyler (Nicole), Mac (Lexie), Lindsay, Mike, Brooke, Scott, Jackson and great-grandchildren Kenley, Rylan and Henry will dearly miss her. Also mourning her passing are Terry’s children and their families, Terry (Nicole), Susie (Frank), Mike, Nancy (Bob), John (Leigh), Katherine (Dave), Dave (Gisele) and Terry’s many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley was born and raised in Dryden, ON, where she attended and graduated Dryden High School, excelling in athletics. She then moved to Kenora and worked for Bruce Findlay’s Law Office while raising her family. Shirley finished her career working for Sutcliffe’s Insurance.
She was a long-time member of the Mount Evergreen Ski Club and loved downhill and cross-country skiing. She also enjoyed curling, golf and fishing – but she especially enjoyed eating the catch-of-the-day. Shirley was a member of the Knox United Church and the LOTW Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered for both. Terry and Shirley also delivered Meals on Wheels together. She enjoyed hosting and attending cards with her life-long friends in the “The Bridge Club”.
Shirley was a wonderful cook and looked forward to family dinners. She was an amazing mother and cherished grandmother. Shirley especially enjoyed her time watching her children and grandkids at their many and varied sporting events. She always put other people first and made time for each of the grandkids. They all dearly loved their “Grandy”.
For the past six months, Shirley has lived at Pinecrest Home and we are all so grateful to the staff who took such thoughtful care of Shirley.
The Schussler family would like to thank the Tresoor family and Brenda for the many meals provided to Shirley and Terry over the last few years.
Shirley was a wonderful person, loved by many.
REST EASY MOM, WE WILL LOVE YOU AND CHERISH YOUR MEMORY
