It looks like the Liberals are coming through with major cash for a universal dental care program.
The Toronto Star is reporting it will be key part of federal budget late this month.
The dental care program is a pillar in the deal between the NDP-Liberal “supply and confidence” agreement.
New Democrats have made it conditional for supporting Justin Trudeau’s minority government until 2025.
According to the Star’s sources, the NDP has a “pretty confident expectation” that there will billions set side for dental care for Canadians.
Right now the only federal dollars for Canadian dental care are aimed at low-income children under 12 years old.
The Canada Dental Benefit was originally launched in December 2022, where families of eligible children could receive up to $650 per child for dental work.
With the NDP pushing for Canadian dental care, leader Jagmeet Singh also wants to have the doubled GST payments extended for six months.
The budget will be released on March 28.
