Friday evening, the graduating class of 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas High School attended their prom.

Prior to the big evening, the class embarked on the annual tradition of heading to the harbourfront for their prom pictures.

Shaye Symonds reflected on the past couple of years.

"We didn't really get in-school experience will all of our friends," said Symonds noting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"If we wanted to see our friends it was over a phone call or video chat. Some of us kinda lost the opportunity to be social," added Symonds.

Jaylin Starr highlighted Ms. Jackson when asked which one of her teachers had the biggest impact on her time in high school.

"She always came to school with a smile on her face and it was always nice to see," stressed Starr.

Both Symonds and Starr intend on taking a year off before pursuing their next opportunity.

Prior to heading out for pictures Director of Education for the Kenora Catholic District School Board, Paul White, helped Grade 12 students Mason and Ryder Alexander get ready for prom by teaching them how to tie their neckties.
