Teen facing 16 counts of Mischief after string of vehicle damages

Police began investigating damage to numerous vehicles in Fort Frances in September.

A 15-year-old from Fort Frances is facing 16 charges of Mischief after a string of incidents involving vehicles in Fort Frances over September and October.

The Fort Frances OPP says police were called to investigate 13 separate incidents of damage to vehicles in the area between September 19 and October 10, with most of the damage occurring overnight.

As a result of the OPP’s investigation, a 15-year-old who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act is facing 16 counts of Mischief under $5,000.

The OPP is reminding the public to protect their property, to not leave valuables in plain sight, to keep their vehicle and home locked at all times and park their vehicle in well-lit areas, if possible.
