Today marks the nineteenth day in a row the Northwestern Health Unit has reported cases of COVID-19.
In total, ten cases of COVID-19 were reported across the region. Six in the Sioux Lookout region, two in the Kenora region, and two in the Dryden / Red Lake region.
Provincewide, 1,468 new cases were reported on Saturday.
Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts have started according to protocol. Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be contacted directly.
NWHU recommends that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face. Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested.
The Northwestern Health Unit will be moving into Red-Control tier of the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework effective Monday, March 15 at 12:01 a.m.
