At just 34 years of age Canadian actor Patrick Kwok-Choon has boldly gone where no-one has gone before, specifically to the 32nd century aboard the USS Discovery, and now he is coming to Thunder Bay this fall.

Kwok-Choon began his career on the stage appearing in Canadian Stage’s production of The Tempest and Rock ‘n’ Roll.

He eventually made his way into the world of film and television and his credits include appearances on Rookie Blue, Remedy, Open Heart, and the cult favourite, Wyonna Earp before being cast in the the first Star Trek series produced in over a decade, Star Trek: Discovery.

“We’re very excited to be able to bring Patrick to ThunderCon this year,” says Media Director Heather Dickson. “He plays an important series regular on a powerhouse show, and he’s as charming in real life as he is on the bridge!”

One of his most recent appearances in film includes a supporting role in the Joaquin Phoenix feature, Beau Is Afraid.

In addition to his acting, Kwok-Choon is also an experienced martial artist, trained in both Taekwon-Do and Muay Thai, as well he is a black belt in Krav Maga.

He joins several guests already announced for Thundercon slated to take place on September 9th and 10th, including GI Joe comic series creator Larry Hama, Pat Mastroianni and Stacie Mistysyn of Degrassi fame, and video game and special effects artist C.Andrew Nelson.
