Several camp owners on islands around the City of Kenora have discovered they were the victims of thieves when they came to open their summer homes this year.
Ontario Provincial Police say they are investigating the incidents, which are believed to have taken place during the winter months, and have brought in members of its Forensic Identification Service to assist.
Items taken from the camps include jewelry, alcohol and other personal items.
Residents are being reminded to either take or secure their valuables if they leave their camps for an extended period of time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
