The Northwestern Health Unit reported two new cases of COVID-19 in the Sioux Lookout area early this morning, and staff have confirmed one additional case in the community.

Followup with the person involved and their contacts has already started according to protocols, and anyone identified as a potential contact will hear from the health unit directly.

The health unit continues to ask residents to always assume COVID-19 is spreading within your community, and to always practice preventative health measures such as hand washing, wearing a mask, social distancing and staying home if you’re sick.

If you are experiencing symptoms or have come into contact with someone with COVID-19, you’re asked to contact your local assessment centre or nursing station immediately.
