The Kenora U18 Thistles (1-12-0) weren't able to get the two points they hoped to get last night (November 6, 2021) against the Pembina Valley Hawks (5-6-2) losing 4-1. 

Kaden King was back between the pipes for the Thistles and stopped 42 shots in his return.

For the home side, Raiden LeGall stopped 22 of 23 shots for his fourth win of the season. 

Cameron Parr got the Hawks on the board first at the 11:50 mark of the first period as he was able to beat King for the 1-0 lead. 

Late in the frame, Pembina Valley's Sebastien Hicks struck for his sixth goal of the season to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead going into the intermission. 

King was under siege after 20 minutes turning aside 15 shots in the period, while LeGall was less busy stopping all four shots he faced. 

The Hawks were able to extend their lead to 3-0 early in the second period from the hands of Keston Worley who was able to put it past King. 

Kenora got one back on the powerplay as Jett Mintenko reached 20 points on the season with his 10th goal of the season. 

Brandon Gustafson and Emerson Evans picked up the assists on the goal.

After 40 minutes the Hawks held a 3-1 lead. Shots in the second period were 14-11 for the Hawks. 

Pembina Valley would regain their three-goal lead as Keston Worley notched his second of the game early in the third period. 

Kenora wasn't able to claw their way back as they picked up their third straight loss in a row losing 4-1.

The shots in the third period were 15-8 for the Hawks for a total shot count of 46-23. 

The Thistles finished 1 for 4 on the powerplay, while the Hawks went 0 for 5 on the man advantage. 

The rematch will go today (November 7, 2021) at 12:45 p.m. at the Morden Access Centre-Huron Arena.
