Vehicles are now moving in both directions along Hwy. 516 into Sioux Lookout this evening.

Police closed it earlier today, due to a forest fire. The OPP reported the highway was closed in both directions around 3:30 p.m., but re-opened to one lane shortly after 5 o'clock.

It was the second road closure notice of the afternoon. Highway 673 to Shoal Lake was also closed Saturday afternoon, as a fire north of the First Nation jumped across the road, and water bombers had been called in to fight it.

Police also closed part of Hwy. 502 near Dryden, after smoke from a nearby fire impaired visibility.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is advising residents not to burn in high winds, as the hazard is moderate to high in the district.
