The Trans-Canada has been re-opened to both lanes of traffic, following a fatal accident near Dryden.
It was closed late in the afternoon, after a collision near the junction of Hwy. 17 and Glengoland Road. It was the second fatal accident within a week on the Trans-Canada in northwestern Ontario.
There was another fatal accident on the Trans-Canada near Brandon earlier in the day, after a mini-van collided with a semi just east of the city.
Early Wednesday morning, a transport driver from Winnipeg was killed near Dogtooth Lake, closing the highway between Vermilion Bay and Kenora for much of the day.
Officers are still investigating. The detour used Hwy. 594 between Eagle Lake and Dryden.
