2019 to 2023 Motorcycles that are models R1250 GS and R1250 RT might have a rear wheel that locks suddenly.
Although uncommon, a sudden difference in speed between the engine and rear wheel, could damage or break the gearbox input shaft.
BMW will contact you by mail if you need to bring your motorcycle into the dealership to update the engine software.
This type of sudden change in rear wheel speed is uncommon, but may happen in an off-road situation where a spinning rear wheel slows suddenly while landing after a jump.
