Treaty 3 police are working with community members in Whitedog. Deputy chief Jeff Skye talks about their efforts to work with the First Nation.

"It's important for us to help make is a healthy community," he said. "It's one of our goals, as a police organization is to address any of our concerns in any of our communities."

Officers are addressing ongoing concerns regarding solvent abuse. They've also been asked to assist with community efforts in Onigaming and Whitefish Bay.

At Naotkamegwanning, a petition with more than 160 signatures was presented to a general band meeting last week. Chief and council have agreed to work with the police service, as well as prevention services, in an effort to improve the safety and security of members, especially elders.
