The Northwestern Health Unit has received a report of two additional COVID-19 cases in the Kenora area, in addition to the 3 cases announced yesterday.
Follow up with the people involved and their contacts has started according to protocols. Anyone who is identified as a contact will be contacted directly.
The health unit confirms that one of the new cases is at St. Louis School, and they are working closely with the Kenora Catholic District School Board to minimize impacts to the school community. The school remains open to those who have not been contacted by NWHU staff.
Health unit staff ask all residents assume COVID-19 is spreading within your community, and to always practice preventative measures like social distancing, wearing a mask, good hand hygiene and not touching your face.
