The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 in the Kenora region. This marks the seventh consecutive day that at least one case has been announced for the Kenora region.
The health unit defines the Kenora region as the following communities: English River 21, Jaffray-Mellick, Keewatin, Kenora , Kenora 38B, Lake Of The Woods 37, Minaki, Norman, Northwest Angle 33B, Rat Portage 38A, Redditt, Sabaskong Bay (Part) 35C, Sabaskong Bay 35D, Shoal Lake (Part) 39A, Shoal Lake (Part) 40, Shoal Lake 34B2, Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls, The Dalles 38C, Wabaseemoong, Whitefish Bay 32A, Whitefish Bay 33A and Whitefish Bay 34A.
Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts has started according to protocol. Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be contacted directly.
For reasons of privacy, NWHU does not release or comment on information about the location of COVID-19 test results.
Both of the new cases in the Kenora region are connected to previously identified cases. None of the Kenora cases appear to be associated with the outbreak at Benedickson Court.
