The Coldest Night of the Year walk takes place in Kenora on Saturday.
Mosswood Movers is one of 13 teams taking part.
Vic Moss says as a fundraiser they are racing ice bikes prior to the walk on Saturday.
“I used to work in non-profit, in a homeless shelter, so I know the need is there,” says Moss.
“I wanted to take part and I started of thinking of ideas of how to get more people motivated to join, so the ice bike fun race is just kind of a natural movement towards that.”
The ice bike race will take place on the ice road near the Hard Water Cafe at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
The actual Coldest Night of the Year Walk will start at 5:00 at the Fellowship Center.
To date, 69 percent of the fundraising goal has been met, or $26,430.
54 people will be taking part in the walk.
