On Monday the Northwestern Health Unit will be classifying the two cases of COVID-19 at Valleyview School as an outbreak.

At this time there has been no new cases of COVID-19 reported at the school and the designation of outbreak is being added because the situation meets the Ministry of Education's definition.

The ministry defines an outbreak as: two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff in a school within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection at school.

Kenora region with four of those cases being linked to École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys, St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Valleyview Public School.
