The boil water advisory issued May 15 has been rescinded for Coney Island residents.
A precautionary boil water advisory for Coney Island residents has been rescinded as the water has been deemed safe to drink.
The City of Kenora and the Northwestern Health Unit issued the boil water advisory for Coney Island’s seasonal water service on May 15 due to repairs and upgrade work, but testing of the supply did not indicate the presence of harmful bacteria.
In 2022, the city faced challenges with the water service due to deep frost and waterline leaks, which prompted the repairs before the start of summer 2023.
